About Altols
Altols is operated by Altols, a sole trader business, ABN 43 276 196 879, Sydney NSW, Australia. By using the site you agree to these terms. If you are under 18, you may use Altols only with the involvement of a parent or guardian.
What the tools do
Altols provides browser-based tools that crop and size passport and visa photos, compress video and convert files between formats. The tools run on your device. Results depend on the file you provide and on your browser and device.
Passport and visa photos
The passport photo tool crops and scales your photo to the size and head measurements published by the relevant authority, and checks it against common reasons for rejection. It does not change your face or background. The issuing authority decides whether to accept a photo, and it can reject a photo for reasons we can't check, such as your expression, glasses, lighting or how recently it was taken. We can't promise acceptance. If a photo made with Altols is rejected because of its size or crop, our refund policy applies.
Only upload photos of yourself, or of someone you have permission to photograph, such as your child.
Prices and payment
- Prices are shown before you pay, in USD, and the total is shown again on the Stripe checkout page before you confirm. Your bank may charge a currency conversion fee if your card is in another currency.
- A passport photo costs $4.99 and includes the digital file and print sheet for one photo. You can download them for 72 hours after paying.
- The 24-hour pass costs $2.99 and removes free-tier limits on video size and batch conversion in the browser you bought it in, for 24 hours from purchase.
- Every payment is a one-off charge. There are no subscriptions and nothing renews automatically.
- Payments are processed by Stripe. We never see or store your full card number.
Acceptable use
Don't use Altols to break the law, to create fraudulent identity documents, to process images of people without the right to do so, or to infringe anyone's copyright. Don't attempt to get around payment, interfere with the site, or overload it with automated requests.
Your files and our content
Your files remain yours. We never receive them, so we claim no rights in them. The Altols name, design, text and code belong to us or our licensors. Third-party software and fonts used on the site are listed on the licences page.
Consumer guarantees
Our services come with guarantees that cannot be excluded under the Australian Consumer Law, and you may have similar rights under the laws of your own country. Nothing in these terms limits those rights.
Our responsibility
Subject to the consumer guarantees above, we provide Altols with reasonable care and skill, but we don't promise that it will be available without interruption or that every file will convert successfully. To the extent the law allows, our total liability to you for any claim is limited to resupplying the service or refunding what you paid for it, and we are not liable for indirect losses such as missed travel or appointments.
Changes and governing law
We may update these terms; the date at the top shows the latest version. These terms are governed by the laws of New South Wales, Australia, without affecting any rights you have under the laws of your own country.
